MORTAR 30
A ceramic-bonded 30% alumina jointing mortar rated to 1350 °C, sintering from 1100 °C, with a pyrometric cone equivalent of Orton 23 / 1605 °C. Maximum grain size is 1.0 mm and it takes 35–45% water to trowelling consistency. Supplied in 50 kg bags.

Laying and jointing fireclay and low-alumina brickwork in kilns, boilers and low-duty furnaces. Match the mortar's alumina to the brick's — a joint weaker than the brick around it is where spalling begins.
