India's steelmaking capacity reaches 222 MTPA against a 300 MTPA target for 2030

Crude steelmaking capacity stood at about 222 MTPA as of June 2026, up from 200.3 MTPA in 2024-25, on the way to the National Steel Policy target of 300 MTPA by 2030.
