High Alumina Fire Brick — 30%
The entry grade of the fireclay series — 30% alumina, 25% apparent porosity, 300 kg/cm² cold crushing strength, with refractoriness under load to 1340 °C. It is the most open brick in the range, and that porosity is both why it is the cheapest and why slag and alkali vapour find their way into it first.
