Magnesite Brick — 90%
A basic brick at roughly 90% MgO, supplied rectangular for side walls, partition walls and roofs. It is the answer to a chemical problem rather than a temperature one: molten iron-oxide scale dissolves high-alumina brick at hearth temperatures, and magnesia takes the same scale into a high-melting solid solution instead.

Reheating furnace hearths and soaking zones where mill scale collects and goes liquid, electric arc furnace linings, rotary kiln burning zones. Magnesia hydrates on contact with atmospheric moisture — keep the pallets dry and covered, and do not lay hydrated brick.
