FIRECRETE NORMAL
A conventional 45% alumina castable rated to 1400 °C, cast by vibration at 10.5–11.5% water with 6% lime. Dried density is 2.18 g/cc and cold crushing strength 285 kg/cm² after drying. Conventional castables carry more water and more cement than low-cement grades, which makes them straightforward to place and gives them lower hot strength.
