WHYTHEAT A

A 87.5% alumina dense castable rated to 1700 °C, cast at 8–10% water, 2.73 g/cc dried, 640 kg/cm² after drying and 750 kg/cm² after firing at 1550 °C. Cone equivalent Orton 37 / +1820 °C. The high alumina content is bought for chemical resistance and volume stability.
