WHYTHEAT C

A 50% alumina dense castable rated to 1500 °C, vibration cast at 10.5–11.5% water. It reaches 380 kg/cm² after drying, drops to 220 kg/cm² at 1100 °C and recovers to 610 kg/cm² after firing at 1550 °C — the strength dip through the intermediate range is normal for a hydraulically bonded castable and is why the heat-up curve matters.
